Roary the Racing Car: Narrator Bio

Sam Hornish, Jr.: In the Driver's Seat

Sam Hornish Jr., one of the most successful drivers in recent history of open-wheel racing, is the narrator in the high-octane preschool series, Roary the Racing Car™. After winning the legendary Indianapolis 500, capturing three IndyCar championships, and winning more races and leading more laps than anyone in IndyCar Series history, Hornish Jr. recently made the move to NASCAR's Sprint Cup Series.

At the conclusion of the 2007 season, the native of Defiance, Ohio made the difficult decision to walk away from his very productive IndyCar Series career. After reaching the highest levels of achievement in open-wheel competition, he announced his full-time commitment to stock car racing, continuing with Penske Racing, focusing on the new challenge of competing in NASCAR's premier series beginning in 2008.

It is this unrelenting and fiery motivation to succeed, to continually challenge and prove himself, that defines champion race car driver and genuine good guy Sam Hornish Jr.

Hornish Jr. is married with an infant daughter. His role in Roary the Racing Car is his first foray into animation and the world of preschool television.
