Keith Chapman
Creator of Fifi and the Flowertots
When Keith Chapman first started creating characters as a child he had dreams of following in the footsteps of Walt Disney and creating his own world famous characters. He achieved this with his origination of Bob the Builder, which has become one of the biggest preschool properties in the world.
A graduate with distinction from Great Yarmouth Art College, Keith spent his early years working as an art director in advertising, drawing cartoon strips, caricatures and greetings cards in his spare time. From there he moved to Jim Henson International where he designed Muppet related products and commissioned illustrators, model makers and photographers.
Keith's advertising background gave him a strong discipline and he treats each new project like a creative brief.
Bob the Builder's success has allowed Keith to concentrate on creating characters full time. In 2002 he co-founded Chapman Entertainment, a company specializing in the creation, management and production of children's and family entertainment properties.
Fifi and the Flowertots was the first of Keith's characters to be produced by Chapman Entertainment. The show has quickly become a global sensation with sales to more than 140 territories. Fifi is now the number one preschool property for girls and is one of the top rated preschool shows in the UK. In 2008, Fifi and the Flowertots will be premiering on PBS KIDS Sprout in the US and Treehouse TV in Canada.
Keith is married with three young sons.
