Derek Irwin joined HIT Entertainment in November 2010 and is responsible for all financial operations of the company including controllership, tax planning, treasury, audit, financial planning and analysis, investor relations as well as Information Technology.
Derek also sits on the board of TheStreet.com, a publicly listed company on the NASDAQ, where he is Chairman of the Audit Committee.
Before joining HIT, Derek spent five years with The Nielsen Company, most recently as Senior Vice President of Finance for Global Media Client Services. He also served as the Vice President of Transformation and Senior Vice President of Finance for the Business Media division.
Prior to his time at Nielsen, Derek served in senior level financial positions at Ziff Davis Holdings, online job site Monster Worldwide Inc., and Major League Baseball.
Derek began his career as a Certified Public Accountant with Ernst & Young, having graduated from Lehigh University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.
